Meeting in Progress

Recently installed for W Investments, in the heart of London, is a complete audio visual and video conferencing system carefully designed around antique furniture in the main 35ft Boardroom.

The system features an NEC 61" plasma screen with two data inputs run over cat 5 cabling to avoid any disruption to the walls within the newly decorated room. Where ever possible technology was kept out of site and was housed within an antique cupboard at the front of the Boardroom.

Equipment installed includes

  • NEC XM3 61" Plasma screen
  • Satellite receiver with Infra-red transmitting the signal to two additional points in other meeting rooms
  • Polycom EX Video conferencing system with ISDN and IP facility
  • Crestron ST1700c touch panel with docking station
  • Crestron CP2 processor
  • Yamaha AV amplifier
  • Interlink RF keyboard and mouse
  • Samsung DVD/VHS combi player
  • Three Sennheiser Radio Microphones
  • Additional 42" NEC Plasma screen
  • SMS Plasma stands

Plasma and LCD displays are ideal when using videoconferencing in boardrooms. Their ultra slim profile, stunning video quality and image brightness make them perfectly suited to environments with high ambient light levels such as boardrooms with large windows.

Viscom audio visual solutions offers a co-ordinated AV package built around a simple electronic push-button control panel or Crestron touchpanel that can be fitted into a desk or lectern.

A typical system comprises:

  • Wired control panel for source selection & transport (play/pause/FF/rew/stop)
  • Latest multimedia projector & screen (or a plasma display)
  • DVD/video recorder or combi
  • High quality audio amplifier & speakers
  • Custom-built lockable cabinet or lectern with equipment rack
  • Optional videoconferencing
  • Optional interactive whiteboard
  • Optional radio mics & additional inputs

  • Crestron touch panels are the key to advanced presentation systems. Offering exceptional ease of use, when programmed correctly, ensures the boardroom system will function properly and will be used often - maximising your return on investment.
  • Video Conferencing is easier than ever before. Although there are advanced features available on most videoconferencing systems, these do not need to be used if not necessary. Choose from entry level set top units to advanced installed systems in boardrooms and meeting rooms.
  • Front projection is often used in Boardrooms but rear-projection is also used as it presents a clean and uncluttered solution where all of the equipment is out of sight and only the image on screen is visible. Where rear projection is not possible then ceiling mounted projection is the best option. A discrete option is a projector hoist which keep the projector hidden in the ceiling void until it is required.
  • Downlighters and wall washes can be used to great effect to add to the drama of a meeting or to draw attention to specific areas such as a lectern or a meeting table. Integrate lighting with the control systems such as Crestron or Lutron and the show comes alive.
