Since the introduction of data projectors over ten years ago, Kuehne and Nagel have used LCD projectors for presentations adopting fixed LCD projectors at an early stage. Over the past few years seven Meeting Rooms, located between Slough, Birmingham and Dartford have had the latest LCD projection facilities installed.

Recently installed into their Corporate Headquarters near Slough is an Epson EMP-835 high powered LCD projector which provides 3000 ANSI lumens of light onto an eight foot Da-Lite motorised screen.

To enable ease of access to any of the PC inputs, DVD, VHS, Satellite, a Crestron STI-1700 touchpanel was provided enabling anyone who wished to use the facility to do so by a simple touch of the 6" TFT screen.

Coupled to the system is a Crestron CP2 processor which was installed and programmed to make the whole system a wireless RF facility over 40ft.

This Audio Visual system was designed to offer a complete Multi purpose facility for Data presentations / video / DVD / Audio / Satellite. In addition to the AV equipment a Polycom VSX 7000 Video Conferencing link has been established between Slough and Birmingham.

LCD projectors and Plasma screens are the most effective methods of sharing information with participants. Interactive whiteboards, control systems and improved software today have all contributed to persuasive meetings.

Computer resolution, room size and ambient lighting are other factors to consider when designing the system. Larger rooms will benefit from projection, smaller rooms, Plasma. Videoconferencing, computer data and DVD/video can all be shown on both display systems.

With an interactive whiteboard you can easily access, display and control computer-based information during the meeting. The presenter can stand facing the audience, control the flow of the meeting and launch other programs, annotate and capture any changes that have been made. With the functionality of both whiteboards and flipcharts, interactive whiteboards are a powerful tool when brainstorming or problem solving.

Meetings using videoconferencing enable users to have the immediacy of a face-to-face conference. This includes the experience of real personalities, with the potential benefits of seeing spontaneous reactions and real savings on travel time and costs.
